This policy explains how Five Star Racing Club Ltd (“we”, “us”) collects, uses and protects your personal data when you use fivestarracingclub.co.uk, register your interest, contact us or become a member.
Who we are
Five Star Racing Club Ltd is a company registered in Scotland (Company No. SC879014). We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can contact us about your data at enquiries@fivestarracingclub.co.uk.
What we collect
- Register your interest: your first name and email address.
- Contact and sign-up forms: your name, email address, phone number and anything you choose to tell us in your message, including your chosen allocation.
- Members: your contact details, your allocation, records of payments made to us, and the phone number you use for our WhatsApp member channels.
- Website use: basic technical and usage information, such as pages visited and device type, collected through our hosting provider’s statistics.
How we use it, and why
- To send you news about the club and future campaigns, where you have given your consent. You can withdraw consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email.
- To provide your membership, including race-day arrangements, updates and prize distributions. This is necessary for our contract with you.
- To reply to your enquiries and run the club properly. This is in our legitimate interests.
- To keep financial and company records, as required by law.
We never sell your personal data.
Who we share it with
We use trusted service providers who process data on our behalf: MailerLite (email), WordPress.com by Automattic (website hosting and forms) and WhatsApp (member channels). Where we share information with racecourses or trainers to arrange owners’ badges or stable visits, we only share what is needed. Some providers may process data outside the UK; where they do, appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or standard contractual clauses are in place.
How long we keep it
We keep interest-list details until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Enquiries are kept for as long as needed to deal with them. Member and payment records are kept for as long as the law requires, normally six years after the end of the relevant financial year.
Cookies
Our website uses cookies that are needed for it to work, and our hosting provider collects anonymous visitor statistics. We do not use advertising cookies.
Your rights
You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to ask for a copy to take elsewhere. To use any of these rights, email enquiries@fivestarracingclub.co.uk. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
